WHO ARE WE?

Karzhoev Films is founded by Kyrgyz filmmaker and producer

Adilet Karzhoev.


We develop and produce fiction and documentary films, with a focus on distinctive cinematic voices, locally rooted stories and international collaboration.


We also develop international collaborations across Central Asia, Europe and Asia, connecting projects from Kyrgyzstan with filmmakers, producers, festivals and industry platforms worldwide.

Kyrgyz filmmaker and producer based in Bishkek.
Working across fiction and documentary cinema, his practice combines filmmaking with the development and production of new projects through Karzhoev Films.

As a producer, he focuses on working closely with filmmakers from the earliest stages of a project, supporting both its creative development and its path toward production and international audiences.

As a director, Karzhoev develops films shaped by a personal visual language and an interest in human experience, place and contemporary reality.

WATERKEEPER
When Rysbek, a mountain village’s only waterkeeper for over three decades, is forced to retire due to health problems, his daughter Nazgul follows his struggle to let go of his lifelong mission and asks who will protect the community when the keeper of the water is gone.
